Astartea aspera hybrid – Winter Pink

A small to medium upright or weeping shrub with small, linear leaves and masses of deep pink wax flowers on reddish branchlets. This lovely shrub has soft, aromatic foliage and grows from 0.5 to 1m high and wide. It flowers in winter and spring and attracts birds and insects and looks best as a massed border planting or in a low mixed shrubbery. It prefers to grow in sandy loam, loam, peaty loam, gravelly loam in full sun or part shade. Tip prune after flowering to maintain compact shade, mulch well and provide some extra water during hot summer months. Origin – Nursery Hybrid from south coastal WA species.
