A domed, spreading shrub with large, prominent yellow flower spikes with dark style tips and oblong, serrated leaves. This outstanding shrub flowers in autumn through to spring with fragrant nectar for honeyeaters and small mammals. The showy flower heads are held on short branchlets above the foliage and are great for cut flowers. It is low maintenance and tolerates drought, wind and light frost and grows from 0.5 – 1m tall by 2m wide in a wide range of soil types, including sandy loam, sandy gravel, gravelly loam, gravelly clay loam, clay loam, limestone and shale. Looks great on exposed banks in full sun or dappled shade, and can be pruned to shape and grown in large pots. Origin – Southern Wheatbelt and South Coast
