A large shrub with robust creamy-yellow flower spikes aging to orange-brown then grey-brown, and long serrated leaves. It retains older flowers, which creates a lovely colour palatte. New flowers appear mainly in autumn and winter, but can be found most of the year. It produces lovely scented nectar for honeyeaters and small mammals. It tolerates moderate frost and grows from 2 – 3m tall and 3m wide on sandy loam, sandy gravel, gravelly loam and gravelly clay loam. A good low windbreak and habitat shrub. Can be pruned to shape if required. Origin – South Coast and Southern Wheatbelt
