A graceful upright tree or mallee with pendulous branches and beautiful cerise to red flowers emerging from large bell-shaped buds. The buds, young leaves, branchlets and fruit are covered with a silvery white bloom, while the peeling Minni-Ritchi bark adds to the attraction of this outstanding feature tree. It grows from 4 to 8m high and flowers from late autumn to spring in sandy loam, gravelly loam, clay loam, sandy clay and around granite outcrops. Tolerates drought and frost and can be pruned back to regenerate from the lignotuber. Origin – Wheatbelt and Rangelands
