A slender, slightly pendulous mallee with smooth white and grey bark, long grey to green leaves and round woody fruit. The dark pink, long conical buds open releasing creamy stamen that turn pale or dark pink with age, like frilly petticoats. This lovely ornamental tree has a delightful display of pretty pink flowers in late spring and summer and grows from 3.5 to 6 – 8 m high, and 3 to 4m wide, depending on site. It is suitable for smaller gardens and provides some light dappled shade over smaller shrubs. It is quite adaptable, growing in well-drained sandy loam, loam, gravelly loam, gravelly clay loam and clay loam in full sun. Threatened Flora. Origin – Mid West and Rangelands.
