A large bushy shrub with olive-green leaves and many clusters of orange spider flowers. Easy to establish and fast growing, this shrub is hardy and adaptable to a range of conditions. It flowers in winter and spring, and sporadically through the year. It grows from 2 to 4m high by 2 to 4m wide and is suitable for larger gardens. It attracts honeyeaters and bees and is good dense habitat for smaller birds. It responds well to pruning and looks great as an informal hedge and is an effective windbreak. It tolerates light frost and moderate drought and grows best in full sun and tolerates light dappled shade. It grows in a variety of well-drained soil types including limestone sand, sandy loam, loam, gravelly loam, clay loam and clay. It is low maintenance, with occasional pruning to maintain a more compact form. Origin – North-West Coastal.
