A vigorous, very hardy prostrate shrub with deeply lobed leaves and showy clusters of crimson toothbrush flowers. This shrub is a fast-growing ground cover with a dense layer of attractive dark green mature leaves with bronze to burgundy new foliage. An excellent choice for exposed banks and larger areas in full sun or dappled shade, in sandy loam, gravelly loam, clay loam and clay. It grows to about 0.4m high and 3 – 5m wide and tolerates heavy frost and drought. It flowers from spring to autumn.
