Melaleuca fulgens – Scarlet Honeymyrtle

A large, open shrub with narrow leaves and fiery red bottlebrush flowers with yellow tips. This beautiful feature shrub flowers in spring and summer and will brighten any garden, and is stunning as a centre piece surrounded by smaller shrubs and groundcovers. It prefers moisture gaining sites and can grow from 0.5m to 2.5m tall and 1.5m wide in full sun or part shade and will attract nectar feeders. It is moderately drought tolerant and grows on sandy loam, gravelly loam, clay loam, sandy gravel and around granite outcrops. Origin – wheatbelt and rangelands.
