Pimelea ferruginea – Pink Rice Flower

$8.00

A medium shrub with neatly arranged, glossy green leaves and masses of pastel pink flower heads at the ends of brnachlets. A hardy coastal shrub that adapts well to many well-drained inland soils and sites. It flowers in spring and summer and grows from 0.3m to 1.2m tall, tolerating moderate drought and frost. It grows in sandy and gravelly soils and around limestone and granite outcrops. A great plant for low hedges or in mixed shrubberies. It responds well to pruning after flowering to maintain shape and to stimulate more flowers. Origin – south-west and southern coasts.
