Thomasia rhynchocarpa

A medium shrub with oblong, softly hairy, light green leaves on slender stems and well displayed, lovely clusters of pink to mauve, crepey flowers. This attractive shrub grows from 0.3 to 1.2m high and flowers from winter to early summer. It tolerates moderate drought and frost and grows in sand, loam, peaty sand, gravelly loam and clay loam along creeklines and drier sites. A lovely, soft understorey plant for shady areas or full sun, and will blend with more traditional, broad-leaved garden species. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape. Origin – South-West.
